The notorious Knife Edge of Capitol Peak. Over 1,000 feet of exposure on each side. K2 in the background. Talk about adrenaline pumping. This was only the beginning of hours more of tough climbing to the summit of Colorado's most notorious mountain.
There’s no other feeling out there quite like standing on top of a mountain and the feeling of accomplishment you experience looking out at the world from a birds eye view. 🔹 What mountain have you conquered recently? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For the first time in our history we hired two full time Missionary Guides--Alexander Wimmer and Mary Krolicki.
As a part of their training we brought them on their first 14er trek (14,000ft mountain ascent) to learn the skills and style of a true Creatio Experience.
The courage and faith that these two showed as we ascended Mount of the Holy Cross was astonishing. Both coming from sea level (Florida and Virginia), they pushed beyond their physical limits to summit the peak and make it back down with enough energy to attend an all-day 25th anniversary celebration of St. John Paul II's Denver visit and commissioning Mass by the Archbishop the following day.
They are now off to Wyoming to receive their Wilderness First Responder certifications. Verso l'alto!

Took the boys hiking the other day! Got to the top of Mt. Sherman (14,036’) Even got to take our new friend Sam up from Texas. It’s always great spending some quality time with some quality people in God’s creation!
Mt Bierstadt | 14,065 | #6
After summiting Evans, I hopped down and went across The Sawtooth ridge to get to the peak of Bierstadt. Sawtooth (the pretty crazy ridge line that you can see in the pictures) has class 3 scrambling with some drops of 1500ft+. It was such a rush climbing around ledges and finding routes up faces. It’s always so rewarding testing yourself and your abilities because it fills you with a new sense of confidence once you prove to yourself that you CAN do it! Just stay calm and keep on! Even made some friends on top of Bierstadt that I ended up climbing back through it with. Thanks @thedutchman70 @robinkondracki @seeohbee33 @eric_callahan for a good time! #MtBierstadt#14er#Colorado14ers#SawtoothRidge#RockScrambling#RockClimbing#OptOutside#TestYourself#TestedTough#Mountains#Colorado
Hiked up Mount Shavano this weekend with some of my coworkers and crossed my 4th 14er off my list! This is the first time that my pace was fast enough to keep up with group, and I was able to be a part of the summit photo! I am so glad to be in such better shape - more exciting things to come! #colorado#14er#mtshavano#hiking
Finally made my summit bid on Quandry. Head cold, altitude sickness and lack of sleep made this one of the hardest accents I’ve ever done, but they weren’t enough to keep that smile from shining! #Quandry#14er#accend#hikinglife#Cleanair#church
First time up Capitol Peak in 9 years. Another great day moving in the mountains with Kayla. This time helping Melanie and Sam get one step closer to finishing the 14ers! #capitolpeak#14er#elkrange#smokeyview
