Not a bad view tonight 😀😀😀 10 miles ran tonight was aiming for 8 but felt good, ran at a recovery pace of 7:20-7:40 mpm tonight with 2 400m sprints thrown in just before 5 and 10 mile points, great run, one downside a little niggle to my left big toe gonna have to rest up a few days to keep right, first injury for a while, should be ok soon though 😀 #run#running#runners#instatraining#instafitness#instarunning#10mile#flstudio
#medalmonday and it has to be yesterday’s @great_run .
I’ve only ever entered local races and half marathons so really didn’t know what to expect from
the #greatsouthrun .
The village was huge, and when queuing up for the start I couldn’t even see the line - I thought the raised platform half way back was part of it! 🙈 .
The pacers only arrived in the pens towards the end of the group warm ups, meaning they had to squeeze past people to get into their right positions. .
By some miracle the 01:15 pacer walked past me so I latched on to him - 01:15:00 was my gold goal.
However he kept on walking and walking and eventually I couldn’t squeeze past anymore people to get to him. He ended up starting in the ‘faster club runners’ pen which are for people aiming for sub 60 mins? 🤷🏻♀️ .
I quickly forgot about it and set on pacing myself, I knew the minute miles I had to do, it was now just a case of doing them! .
The first two miles were quicker, but then I was expecting that - what I wasn’t expecting was 9 out of the 10 miles were quicker then my pace goal 🏃🏻♀️👌🏻
The one mile which was over was 7:33 - nothing like the Minuit differences I’ve suffered in the past! .
The aim was 7:30 mm and I averaged 7:22! .
Finish time: 01:14:12
Although I’m already annoyed I didn’t go 13 seconds faster 😂
Oh my that was hard. At #bright10 it felt like I breezed round but this time I had to fight. At about 7k I realised that beating my pb was not gonna happen, so instead I set myself the goal of running every km under 6 minutes and I managed it. I can remember in March I longed to get under 6 mins for just one km and today I nailed 16 of the blighters. Today was a good reminder of what someone once told me, “not every run will be a good run” but even though it hurt in places I still enjoyed it. The sky was blue, the sun was out and there were so many people that you couldn’t help but enjoy the atmosphere. I would definitely run the Great South Run again. It was flat, there was lots to look at and I love running near the sea. All I could think as I started to run the last mile, how am I supposed to run 26.2 miles? 😳 #slimmingworld#weightloss#weightlossjourney#weightlosstransformation#beginnerrunner#run#sundayrunday#10mile#greatsouthrun#greatsouthrun2018#portsmouth#thismumruns#teamstch

A huge well done to the team this weekend. Nigel and Ann back to business at the Loughborough #parkrun A course PB for Ann and Nigel back in the 22mins after a slight niggle. Latests addition to the team @addy4488 using the #southpark10 as his progression tempo and last but not least @steven_whatmore who ran incredible 27min marathon PB of 2.55.48 in #abingdonmarathon
So so proud of these 3!!! •
Last year for christmas i signed up @jodiloucross and @alisoncross67 as a suprise christmas present- when giving it to them my mum was happy as shed not long got into running and wanted a challenge.. my sister on the other hand was a bit dubious. •
However in true CROSS spirit they rose to challenge and absolutly smashed it! Proving anything they put their mind to they will always achieve. •
Now what shall i challenge them to next?????
Great south run 2018 complete. •
The atmosphere was amazing and i defo will be doing again as i couldnt stop grining the whole way round!
Everything above 7 miles was a personal best for me so am happy that i was able to not stop for the whole 10 miles and get a time of 1 hour 35 minutes.

Furthest distance we’ve ever run and what a run! We were aiming for 2hrs 14 (not exactly sure why!) but came in at 2:10:32.
Start to 10k felt good (aside from the heat 🤯) but for some reason at 10.5k my head went. I had a moment of not being sure what to do because I’d never run that far before.... bizarre.
I remembered the words of a friend and just concentrated on putting one foot in front of the other which seemed to work!
A little bit more walking than I’d planned but it’s a base to start and learn from if nothing else!
Now, bring me all the chicken!! #leftfootrightfootbreathe#greatsouthrun#Southsea#sunrun#10mile
"I am not a runner" 🏅 is something I would say a lot because I was too scared to try something new and fail. After watching the #GreatSouthRun the last couple of years I took the plunge and entered. For a personal challenge more than anything, and to prove to myself I can do anything if I put my mind to it. I've learned a lot about myself in the last couple of weeks, one of them being "I can be anything I want to be". 10 miles in 1 hour 49; although the time does not matter to me, just finishing it - and getting over the line in a flurry of tears was enough. I did it, I am a runner. 🏆♥️ Thank you to @mattdugard29, I couldn't have done it with out you, and the babe that is @nikkiyates123 for cheering me on 😘
Now, better stretch - I've got a Marathon in 2019 💪👌
Today was the icing on top for my running spree this week. With a total of almost 68km in 4 days, I was surprised my legs still managed to race a solid 16km.
What I once dreaded, is my favorite form of sport now. What once seemed impossible, is what fuels me for bigger things. Train hard and consistently people, you’ll be amazed with what your body can do.
What is the one sport that has changed your life?
