“Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”. Our semi private block do exactly this.. ok not exactly, you don’t come here to fish but what you will learn is how to safely execute the main compound lifts (squat, deadlift etc ) which will enable you to carry them out safely outside of personal training/ class setting.. Not only will you learn all the lifts, but each session is broken down and explained as to why you are doing each exercise for the set no of reps sets. So if it’s heavy weights low volume or higher volume less weight, then shown accessory exercises to do alongside these.
This is the final week of programmed classes but I am planning to put on a couple of classes next week depending on interest and taking bookings now for the new year.. Get in touch
Now racing season is over for a lot of you, don't put all that hard work to waste and rest on your laurels or ass depending on how your season went 😜. Resistance weights are proven for athletes to help, •build strength •improve speed/endurance •improve flexibility (with proper technique and mobility exercises)
•improve overall performance.
This block of "Tri Weights" classes is coming to an end tonight..
Few spaces are still available for next 6 week block.
Training twice a week Tuesday & Thursday 8:30pm (youth sport Omagh). More info get in contact.
It’s time to dust down the banner for another few days in the, well “sunshine”.
Well done to @killycloghergaa who just edged past Ardboe, after extra time in a hard contested battle in very tough conditions in Carrickmore yesterday.
They now face Coalisland in the final Sunday week.. Good luck to all the lads and also all the management team and backroom staff.
Also thanks for the cameo from @coreni_corekids (pictured), I’m sure you’ll have a vital role which you’ll no doubt pull out of the bag on game day 👌. #killycloghergaa#uptheblues 💙 #tyronechampionship#gameday
In an age of tight Lycra and designer matching sport apparel it was refreshing to see a client make a stern effort and get suited for the occasion...
First man to come training in a shirt and tie, I give you my good friend Mark @thelostbrothers
When you’re late for court but you really need to get those gains 😜. #comfortfirst#gymgear#musicianswholift
“You can bring a horse to water, but by f@ck you can’t make it drink it”
(My gcse physics teacher 1998, I’m sure he made that up )
Ladies and gentlemen I give you my brother, the lad in the video attempting what should be split jumps but what can only be described as some sorta 80s retro dance, Jimmy Summerville esque 😂 🕺
Procrastination!!! here we go another pt slabbering about getting up and doing stuff.
Well you might be right, but bare with me.
We all have days when you wake up and “couldn’t be assed”
sometimes a cup of coffee is the answer other times a good kick up the proverbial butt is needed to get the shit done that’s needed to be done.. Today for me was one of those. As part of my marathon training I had 11mile run pencilled into my program. Last client of the morning finished and I had six hour window to knock it out.
Five hours later I eventually finished.
So what happened?
After my last client I sat about doing bits of mobility work lost track of time and realised I was hungry.
I ate some food, now I’m going to have to wait to let the food settle.
Done a few msgs whilst waiting then got too tired.
Excuse no 4
Had a snooze woke up and it was too wet. Thought I’ll just do a gym session.
Whilst setting up the gym session the realisation hit me. Shut the f@ck up, stop being a woose and do it.
And damn I’m glad I did. Getting things you’ve planned to do done takes excess pressure of your mind.. even better when that happens to be jogging on the open road.
Running gives you that freedom and release that only those who run truly understand. Don’t get me wrong I love a good old iron pump in the gym as much as the next but the freedom of just setting out on the road with each worry dwindling as the miles pass by is as euphoric as it is self motivating, knowing you have the ability to do it.
I am a firm advocate of strength training for all genders and populations from sport reasons to general weight loss and everything in between, but I would never dismiss the affect running can have on you mentally as well as physically depending on your goals..
In moderation and the right care and procedures taken place running is a great form of exercise..
Locally we are lucky to have great clubs such as @omaghharriers @carmenrunnersac @kcrunners @knockmanyrunners to name a few so anyone wanting to take it up don’t hesitate any longer get the trainers on and if you want that extra push give one of these a shout, you’ll not be disappointed.
