If my first day as a 40 year old is any indication, I am in for an amazing new chapter of laughter, love and lots of mischief. Thank you for the well wishes!!! #grateful #fab40s

Give me a mirror, good light, some hair, a glass of wine and it’s on....... #modelinmyhead

I finally made it to the actual ocean and not just across the street. I was able to sit and ponder the last year. All day long thoughts would run through my head about what I was doing this time last year. The time I was mad because Kevin wouldn’t just come out to the car and go to the doctor. The times where I threatened to call 911 just to get them to move and when he said OK I realized we were in trouble. The time when the doctor said this is serious and not an ear infection. That moment where the doctor mentioned lots of arteries and veins and my brain didn’t recognize a single word. Horrible phone calls we had to make to our children. The sounds of their voices as they heard the words we said. The thoughts of what life would be like without my husband. The good friends who gathered and held my hand as we laughed and cried worried about Kevin. The joy of seeing my husband out of surgery despite the grim outlook. I can honestly say once he came out of surgery, I never really looked back and felt like he would die, no matter what the surgeons were telling me. It was weird spending the day away from Kevin. However I think it was the right thing. It’s been a good year, a hard year. I don’t know what the next year will bring, but I’m glad to be starting with Kevin. Thanks to each and everyone of you for being along for the journey. #strokerecovery #strokesurvivor #anniversary
