It felt great to be back on the mat after taking some time off for my neck and shoulder issue. We worked on some butterfly guard passes and I survived without dying. I am going to feel this tomorrow.
As many of you are aware, I became a human pinball in May 2006, when I was struck as a pedestrian by 2 cars and slammed into a guard rail on the side of the highway. Never stop for a disabled vehicle kids! For 10 years I was unable to do any physical activity without severe discomfort. I would take 12 ibuprofen a day just to function. In 2016 I was finally able to squat without my spine feeling like it would snap. Since that time I have had periods of relief, where I could train and push my body harder before the next "injury" from 2006 would pop up.
In June my neck and shoulder flared up again. I did more research but ran into a wall and realized I could go no further. I reached out to Dr. Mike Turjanica of Airrosti for help. The man is a miracle worker. After a few sessions he worked out the kinks and got me back in the mats. Thanks doc.
