@diogoconsoni strangling me on the way to my Purple belt 5 years ago. Good times. A lot has happened since and the brown belt has come too. I could have qualified to be a doctor twice in the time it’s taken me to get this far but I’ll never stop learning and enjoying this amazing sport. Thanks to all I have shared the mats with and all who have coached me along the way. None more so than @passarguarda
Great to have @next_generation_mma_mandurah_ @letiziamichael and Brandon down for our mma session tonight. Helping Michael get ready for his scrap on @eternalmma 35 in the Goldie next week. Once again the WA combat sports community comes together. Love it.
This is where I like to be, in the cage with my team developing ‘their’ game. Nurturing ‘their’ skills and fine tuning ‘their’ strengths. There is no right or wrong way and as a coach it’s important to acknowledge this. What works for me may not work for them. My aim is to provide a skeleton for them to base ‘their’ skills around and to give concepts and understanding of positions and techniques in order for them to have an array of weapons to fit into ‘their’ game. In order to be a good coach we must understand that there is more than one way to skin a cat. 📷 @aaron_gort
Don’t know why I’m looking so serious. I had a fantastic day at Combat Contender Interclub 4 yesterday. The future is very bright for combat sports here in WA and the fact we had a bunch of WA’s gyms turn up and everyone sparred in the spirit the day was designed for was brilliant. It’s days like these that help our young/inexperienced fighters be the best they can be when the bigger stages come. Thanks to @kickassmma @mach1fightclub @the_mma_clinic_perth @fightingpowergym @next_generation_mma_mandurah_ for supporting and @stevewalton_mma and @kiwishanestewart for helping organise. Not to mention @dvincent94 for providing paramedic cover. Love this community.
Great day with the M1 crew!!!! Awesome effort from both boys Nick Fisher and Darcy Edmonds great display of skills and determination..Thanks to @davesboxingnfitness Jesse @kyle_desouza and @jakerotham for all the help and congrats to @stevewalton_mma and @scrappymmaldn on a awesome day!!!! Cant wait for the next one.👊👊👊👊👊👊👊M1FC

So good to have me old mate Marcus up today from the wilds of Mandurah to share his knowledge with me. I’ve been doing this a long time and he has so much to teach me and goes easy on me which I appreciate. Cheers bro, and thanks to kim and little Renzo for not bashing me either. Such a cool community we have here in Perth (most of the time🙈). Hit Macca up if you wanna pull necks off or rip legs off or just dominate fools.
I’ve rarely been as happy for a win as I was for @darren_mma when he got his long overdue first offical UFC Win in Liverpool. Even more so though I’m most happy for @coach_hines_mma as he has been there for all of us from the beginning of this damn crazy journey. Paul was my first MMA coach alongside @jessliaudin at Pancrase London all those years ago. More importantly he’s been a mate and a brother for the last 11 or so years. He even came and helped me when I picked up my first car cos I was shitting myself about driving back across London. We’ve been through thick and thin and although we are on the other side of the world he’s always got my back. Love ya Grandad. Sorry for all the drama I’ve got you in over he years. 🤣
