Cable Hip Abduction and Adduction. Not something I do normally, but I decided yesterday to demonstrate how to work abductors (outer thigh) and adductors (inner thigh) on a cable machine. It offers an alternative to a resistance machine. My set started with a straight leg kickback into abductors (away) then adductors (toward) - 10 reps each one, back to back, then changed leg. Reduce the weight to try and minimise swinging. 
Hip Adduction is the movement of the leg away from the midline of the body. Hip Abductors contribute to our ability to stand, walk and rotate our leg.

Something I always tell my clients - mind to muscle connection. Think about the muscle you’re working. Understand how it works and it’s purpose. Little posey session during training legs earlier today 😋 So so happy at the moment. I feel full of life and sparkles. Balance, balance, balance. This body has indulged in pic n mix, chocolate, ice cream, pizza and chips - and no, not as a “cheat”. I’ve also eaten healthily too. I’m slightly heavier than when I was prepping and prep does work. At the end of the day though it boils down to one thing. Calorie Deficit if you’re looking to lose fat. However you achieve this is the way that suits you most. No two ways about it, being strict got me in the condition I am as I personally needed to be disciplined and have routine - just the foot has been taken off the gas. Swipe ⬅️⬅️⬅️ 4 pound weight gain in 5 weeks. Am I upset? No way - I’ve over indulged and enjoyed it. My sparkle is back, I feel more relaxed and well again. Gym life has a different meaning to each and every one of us. I had to sit and write my profile yesterday at work and my journey and the reason I became a Personal Trainer is unique to me - helping people turn their life around the way I have my own. My emphasis is on feeling good, feeling well and enjoyment, therefore I accept a few pound weight gain. This is my lifestyle and my passion but it’s not my sport. That does not mean I’m not as committed to being the best trainer I can be and furthering my knowledge. Training for me is a celebration of what my body is now capable of. It always was and always will be.
