Just over a year ago I had some life changing events that have changed me mentally and physically. In the space of 5 months I lost a uncle, grandfather in law and a beautiful niece and carried 3 coffins. That led me to go on a slippery slope down hill where all I wanted to do is block out what was happening. Approaching the new year I took a photo of a tattoo I had got done on my chest with my niece’s name and realised how ill I was becoming. That was on the 22nd of November 2017. That was the moment I realised I had to change and fix up!! I started with just a set of dumbbells and started doing a dvd workout called T25. By New Years I had given up smoking and drinking and found a new hobby to focus on. A few months later I joined a gym called pumping iron and that was the game changer. My focus went for 50 to 60 to 100% and I’ve never looked back since. Yesterday I finally had the confidence to take off my top and ask one of the other members to take a couple photos of me. When I told them it hasn’t even been a year yet and showed them the photo they couldn’t believe it. It just goes to show sometimes it takes you to be at your lowest before you realise what you can really become. I want to thank everyone who has helped me on this journey. All my family, the lads at pumping iron, Mathew for getting me back in the gym and showing me the ropes. Sean, Jon, Limit and everyone else that I’ve trained with this year for helping me push past the barrier but most importantly my missus @charley_2.0.13 I know I am a dick some times if not a lot of the time. Stinking coz I’ve overdosed on protein constantly on my phone learning about bodybuilding but without you this wouldn’t be possible and thank you for putting up with me you are my rock my foundation ❤️💪 I can’t wait to see how I progress and look next year 😜 my weight this time last year was 10st 😱 my current weight now is 11st 13lb 💪 just of 2st increase 😀 Some times you don’t need to win a competition to feel like a champion you just need to change your ways and win your own battles ❤️ .
The text I wrote to this inspiring Chappie this morning went like this
I'm afraid your title of Legend has to be made temporarily redundant.
It will be replaced by MUTANT!! My friend, I admired so much the way you looked like death and pulled out those legs that belong to another species😄, proving that the human body when connected to its spiritual master can accomplish out of this world things.
I know this don't mean much because as a competitor myself if I hear this then it doesn't hold weight unless I'm lifting the trophy weight, but no matter what happens today you've already won!!! @ukbff_official

*PHYSIQUE UPDATE - Weighing 62.5kg*🤓🤠 Don't watch the tired face🤣 I started prep above 80kg in April... yikes! BUT The key word is CONDITION! And although prep is going well and the shreds are appearing, i want to hit peak condition, especially in my legs, so i will keep pushing. BUT I'm excited to step on stage at the @pca_official British Finals tomorrow. It's my first year competing in heels and i truly admire all the ladies that do it. It is super hard!!! Gonna give it my best. Good luck to everyone competing and see you soon! #bodybuilding#fitness#figure#athletic#shredded#shreds#shehulk#gymlife#gym#dedicated#motivated#progress#gymismytherapy
