Often times I get asked “Who is your favorite designer?” Or more recently I’ve been getting asked “What inspired you to start designing jewelry?”
To be honest exactly one year ago I had no plans to design or sell jewelry, nor did I have a favorite designer. Until I went to Manolo Blahniks exhibit in Prague, Czech Republic! This extrodinary exhibit was being held there for a few days before moving on to Germany. All shoes displayed here were samples never produced & if they did make it to production they were most likely in a movie or red carpet!
I have always been a huge fan of Manolo Blahnik and I would joke that when I cross a massive milestone I will spoil myself in Manolos.. but aside from the obvious beauty of the shoes, I knew nothing about Manolo.
Going to this exhibit BLEW MY FUCKING MIND! This man is a genius. This man is inspired by all things nature, all things fabulous. He is one of the few shoe makers left creating samples by hand. I didn’t feel emotional when I was inside the place, but on the plane ride home.. I KNEW I had to do more.
Being Indian I grew up around mass amounts of jewelry. I used Manolos method in finding inspiration in nature, castles, buildings, streets, people, animals I mean the list could go on....though this wasn’t my first trip to Europe.. my entire collection is inspired by photos I took there last year. If you’ve never been to Eastern Europe I highly
With over 300+ pcs purchased & being restocked I can’t wait to finally show you all the hard work I put into my craft when I went to India. This shit wasn’t easy and still isn’t.. but I know I have support in my journey and I can’t wait to share! ❤️ #ManoloBlahnik#ShoeGod#fashionGod
