Here a few tips for a Dumbbell Deadlift, an exercise we do often at Orangetheory and will be doing later this week. It is important that this exercise is done correctly to prevent injury or discomfort to areas like your lower back.
1. Set your self up with a soft bend in the knees
2. Roll the shoulders back
3. Hinge your hips back, bringing your chest parallel to the ground
4. Keep your chin tucked down and eyes to the ground
5. Lift body up by thrusting hips forward
6. Squeeze the Glutes at the top ending in a standing position.
With my post earlier this week about leg day, challenge yourself with a heavier weight choice. Your using the biggest muscles in your body, so if you want a higher calorie burn, larger muscle growth and more definition challenging your self with weight will get you there as long as you perform the exercise correctly. ———————————————————————————
