April 12th 1994, Pearl Jam played the Orpheus Theatre in Boston. It was one week after the death of Kurt Cobain, and no doubt the band was still rocked by the tragic news. Their set included songs from the albums Ten and Vs, and some from the not yet released Vitalogy. Also played that night, covers of Neil Young’s ‘Fuckin’ up’ and The Dead Boys’ ‘Sonic Reducer’, and an amazing performance of the then unreleased Yellow Ledbetter. I wish I was there. I wasn’t, but at least I can hear it anyway.
