What are your favorite things that you do to take care of yourself? My go to used to be shopping. It’s the instant high of having something new and exciting, only to get it home, use or wear it a few times, and then we’re back to square one. It’s a lot like sugar, feels so good at first and then crashes you later leaving you wanting more. My self care is a whoooole lot more holistic these days. I was doing so well with it all a couple months ago when I started with my amazing health coach, I felt what it felt like to have a clear mind, an energetic body, a calm heart. But since we’ve been home I’ve slipped back into so many old habits that leave me feeling foggy, drained, and incredibly anxious. I see the stark contrast between the two ways and am hitting the path back to wellness with all the energy I have. I’m changing the way I view eating healthy as a way to love and appreciate myself enough to take care of my body. I’m looking at exercise more as moving my body to generate energy and keep things flowing. I’m viewing journaling as a means of manifesting and letting out emotions that I usually like to bury nice and deep. I’m taking time away from busyness to ground and put my bare feet to the earth. I’m connecting with my mind, body, and soul. All of these things I’ve always viewed as such hurdles are quickly becoming things I do to love myself. The funny thing is, even though I’m not working out til sweat drips down my nose, or writing 3 pages in my journal, or counting calories and meal prepping-I feel what I’m doing upping my vibe and that’s where progress starts. The small victories of simply putting time and effort into bettering yourself build on each other until you can do the harder things you’ve been avoiding.
