#1 on my mom’s list of things to do while she’s in town was to visit the grave of my great grandfather. Here lies Chester Guy Kinnear 1882- 1939, son of Aurelius and Minerva, engineer and veteran of WWI #la#california#lostroots
I took today off to go to the Getty Musuem for my birthday, I also brought my flute with me. When I went through the security at the entrance of the Getty, they said I'm not allowed to bring a flute with me. So I decided to go the cementary next door to play for the ones with no voice.... And I loved it, it was peaceful and I set my intention to honor all these veterans and played there for an hour. It was very powerful, the energy was intense at first, there was a lot of sorrow but it was better after a while. I was not alone, I had a great audience.
Freedom is not for free. During teaching a merit badge "citizenship in the world" at the BSA scout camp, I was thinking about that quite a lot. We have scary history from which we should learn very hard.
