Pilgrim - one who journeys in foreign lands.
This photo gives me life. Mainly because of the story behind it. Last year, my dear friend and I wanted to hike Lion’s head mountain in Cape Town, South Africa. We didn’t know much about it, we just saw it from afar and knew that we had to hike it. On the day that we were going to hike Lion’s head, we were running a little behind schedule and instead of watching the sunset while we hiked, we got there around sunset. We went hiking with our Airbnb hostess who is a blessing and a true sage of a woman from Brazil. She hikes all the time and didn’t think anything about the time of day. While hiking we approached a fork in the path, and she asked me which way I wanted to go, one is longer she said, so I chose the shorter path because I was concerned about night fall. I didn’t even notice the sign, I was just hiking and talking. Well, I choose the path that said “via chains use at your own risk”!!!!! We ended up rock climbing our way to the top using chains and sometimes poles to pull ourselves up because it was very steep. To top it all off, we We we’re doing this in dark to the light of a full moon. Needless to say, when I got to the top, I was elated that I just rock climbed in the dark in a foreign land with a new friend and a dear friend. I realized that I am stronger than I ever knew. And now I know for sure that we are ALL stronger than we know. 💪🏾💪
