This was my last full day in Hokkaido before I ride back to the airport tomorrow and I’m reflecting on how to present this trip. I don’t post much about the other 350 days of my year, so it should be noted that this is hardly representative of my life. At the same time, it sort of is. I pour myself into trips like this, and that does represent... something? Similarly, these pictures show off highlights of the 15 days I was here, yet they don’t quite encapsulate the days where we were beset by rain, gravel roads, busted tires, headwindy headwinds, and, sadly, a complete bike failure for Aaron at the end. However, these pictures can barely attest to the beauty Hokkaido possesses. So it’s about even, I’d say. This place was astounding, the people were warm, the riding was amazing, and I am incredibly lucky I was able to experience all of it. Another shoutout to @asmartinseoul for planning nearly the entire trip for himself and then inviting me to come along after the hard work was done. Also for taking all of the pictures with me in them. Another cool thing is, my next stop is the states. Yes, for more cycling, but also for some more important things.
