I love a love/run relationship with ‘home’ as a physical place.
I adore traveling, being in flow, being connect, being around people, letting the universe take me where it desires... And so I find it challenging to come home and be in my space all by myself even though I love it... I get around this by making regular travel part of my work... that gives me my fix.
Figuring out who I am & what I need and then owning that has been a big part of my journey.
That’s been further complicated by parenthood! My son is the reason I’ve committed to this place for the medium haul - that’s what he needs.
So how can I meet his needs AND mine? Because one thing I’ve been clear on since choosing to have a child with my ex... was that I was not going to sacrifice myself for motherhood.
No fucking way.
Sometimes, my son may have lost out because of my vehemence on this one... The pendulum is feeling about right now though.
And now that he’s eight, my next mission is to go traveling WITH him... he’s begging for it too, which is great.
And, I’m also looking at bringing more flow, connection and people into my home.
Of course... now I’m home... and the fire is on... the thought of going anywhere is... exhausting! I just want to curl up in the sun & stare out the window.
So that’s exactly what I’ve been doing.
See - Home!
Love leaving it & going adventuring.
Give me four weeks or so and I’ll be champing at the bit to go on my next adventure... that’s about as long as I can last!
I timed this right. This evenings walk turned grey skies into magic! Colour your world with love! As Maya Angelou once said “You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them. Try to be a rainbow in someone else's cloud. Do not complain. Make every effort to change things you do not like. If you cannot make a change, change the way you have been thinking. You might find a new solution.”
