I’m a people person and I love to socialize which is one of the reasons I love my job. 😊 Day-in and day-out I get to meet some pretty interesting people and listen to their inspiring stories. Susan Natali is one of them with her infectious smile and positive disposition. After struggling for many years with her weight gain she not only conquered it but kept it off for 9 years (swipe to see before and after pics)! Susan wanted to teach others to do the same while having fun. 💃🏼 She teaches Zumba classes at @zumbabysamira —inspiring others while helping to keep your own health in check, a win-win if you ask me! Keep up the great work Susan! ❤️Buffalo art by: @jahoob_kazoo
Why did I move my family and I back to Black Rock? Why did I put my business in an economically challenged area? ☀️Growing up here, I watched amazing sunsets over the the Niagara river, right from my windows. I loved that the bike path was just 3 blocks away 🚴♂️ and lived by 2 main bus routes. 🚐 Also, the convenience of being right next to the thruway was awesome. 🚗 I could be anywhere in 10-15 minutes instead of taking that long just to get to the thruway. Makes sense for a business, don’t you think? But there’s more, I wanted to be one of the many who help bring life to this neighborhood. 🤝Many hands make light work and there are many in this grassroots effort to raise this area up and not bring it down. I see potential in Black Rock and Riverside and I try to align myself with others who see even greater things here than even I can imagine. @brralliance is one of those organizations that are building up instead of tearing down. This Tour of Gardens that’s happening tonight and tomorrow is one of the ways and I’m so excited about it! I’m proud that they asked us to join them in this event by printing these t-shirts and tea towels. Tomorrow we’ll be at the headquarters at 311 Ontario St. from 9-1 with other venders. 🎪Thanks to @brralliance, Joe Golombek, staff, volunteers and so many more for all they do in helping to make our part of the city shine a little brighter. 👏🌿🌟 For more info, link in my bio.
Very grateful for the amazing spring into midsummer season we had this year! The projects were AWESOME (just look back at my feed) and I haven't even shared all of them yet! We worked many 12 hour days along with some weekends and now it's definitely time for family time and relaxation. ☀️🌱🏖🚣♀️ I may post now and again but know that we will be back in the shop on 7/30, ready for more incredible projects! ❤️👍
SUPPORTING LOCALS: There's a treasure trove of talents and services among us in WNY. ❤️ Last year, I was first introduced to Jody Zeihm's beautiful watercolor paintings through @gardenwalkbuffalo, the largest event of its kind in the country. Her artwork was chosen for the 2017 Garden Walk Buffalo tour. Though we worked feverishly with her art getting merchandise and volunteer t-shirts ready for the garden event weekend, I had never met her until this year. My lifelong friend, @naycaple, asked me to come to her watercolor teacher's art opening who happened to be Jody!🌟 So awesome to finally meet her and, of course, was blown away by her gorgeous painting that we're standing next to. 😍
I was thrilled when Jody wanted to work with us on a project for an outdoor Farm to Table event in North Tonawanda at the end of this month to benefit the @carnegieartcenter. These 250 tea towels we printed with her painting on them will be given to everyone in attendance. 😊
Thanks, Jody, for including us in this wonderful project and @gardenwalkbuffalo for all you do for our community--its ripple affect lasts longer than just one weekend a year. ❤️
Monday morning vibes to help kickstart your week...Behind the scenes: Collaboration is truly a beautiful thing. 😍 After the 5 designs are printed (50 prints total), they will be cut and sewn. Any idea what these will be once completed? 🤷♀️Artist: @aej.create
Friday Introductions: Hi, I'm Marinette and I started @inspired.buffalo 6 years ago. ☀️We have 1 week until vacation, 7/20-7/27. In the meantime, here's some facts about me and one fun fact at the end. 😊 Please play along as I'd love to hear about you! Post an interesting fact about you and if you own a business, please share in the comments below.👇
. . I knew I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom since I was 16. I even recall arguing with my high school social studies teacher during class about it way back when.
. I loved being creative and making gifts since as far back as I can remember.
. It took me forever to make the connection between creating and having a career! During my 3rd yr in college, I realized that I could do both with graphic design while also working at home--the perfect match. I spent my 4th yr taking prerequisites and applying. To say I was thrilled to get accepted into the program is an understatement!😆
. If the AC is on, I'm cold. My shawl and tea cup are part of my survival kit!😁
Remember, post something about you or your business below!
When your whole life you've been mistaken for an Italian, it's fun to be apart of something that is actually for Italians! 😁 .
Next month, over 200 attendees from all over the country who will be at the Italian Son's and Daughters of America's 2018 Convention will be receiving these aprons and it'll be held right here in Buffalo, NY. 👍The Buffalo ISDA committee have planned a full calendar of activities for them that will show off our beautiful city! 🇮🇪 We're more than happy to play our part in this event. Thanks @the_real_debbiel and the rest of the ISDA committee for selecting us to design and produce these fun aprons and more!❤️
I get to meet so many cool people and some have the sweetest disposition. Tiana Thompson of @artmajorgyrl is definitely one of them. She simply blew me away with her art and her kindness. Tiana, it was a pleasure meeting you and your rabbit is👌😍! Wishing you much success! 👍
Vacation is coming soon! We're closing from Friday to Friday, 7/20-727. We'll be back up and running on Monday, 7/30. However, we're definitely not vacationing before finishing up some really cool projects and I can't wait to share about them! 👀Here's a peek at a collab with the AMAZING @aej.create! 👌More pics to come. 😁
Friday Introductions: The first time I saw Lauren Szmak's work from @lotihennastudio was when I was admiring it in the window of @thinicegiftshop, though I had no idea who made it. Then a chance meeting at a @buffalobossbabes event where I thought she was a teenager (!) I realized who she was. Lauren is an incredible henna artist who has taken her art and turned it into a business. This talented woman entrepreneur (who is a sweetheart) not only has henna parties but also taught herself how to silkscreen and prints her gorgeous creations onto apparel! She gave us a try when she started incorporated watercolor into her art. The results are absolutely beautiful, don't you agree? Collaboration, it's a wonderful thing! 👌The proof is that they're flying off the shelves! 💕Go check her Instagram page out and if you like what you see, show Lauren some love by following her. 👍❤️
Who has the best job in the 🌎? I tell ya', some days I think it's me! Sometimes, I get to play with gorgeous art ALL DAY LONG. What more can an art-crazy girl ask for?! We've been having a blast making these fun @gardenwalkbuffalo items. Which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below. 👇I'm thinking mine is the crossover purse with adjustable straps (sewn by @speakeasy_works), or maybe it's the keychain, or the vintage metal sign...oiye, picking a fav, I've never been good at this sort of thing! 😁 Let me know if you can pick one!
