I’ve been panic induced, financially stressed, mentally destructive, and I’ve just been spiralling for the past few weeks and I truly apologize for my behaviour towards any of you. I love you. I need you! I think you are a piece of sunshine on this earth & I need you to help me grow—like a cool plant! Thank you for existing! I love you ✨ photos by the great Anthony

Moved west and now my walks are in idyllic High park and not the gritty Don. But I think I'll kind of miss that rough park beside the highway.

It’s important to mention that most of what we post on #Instagram is just a #highlightreel of our work. For obvious reasons we don’t always share the problems and stresses of daily life in construction. With that said, we want everyone to know that we do make mistakes - and sometimes big ones.
...
In one of our projects we completed this year we installed a beautiful transparent glass tile from @oceansideglasstile on the floor of this shower. The problem was: when the thin-set mortar got moist from daily showers, it was visible through the glass and was simply unacceptable for us and the homeowner. What this meant is we immediately pulled up the glass tile and replaced with an appropriate porcelain mosaic tile that worked effectively with our waterproof system and design scheme (@shelleykirschdesign).
...
In this case nobody read instructions carefully enough to see that the specifications called for a thin-set that did not discolour when moist, and for a more traditional mortar bed with rubber membrane below. So, our two problems where: 1.) wrong thinset and 2.) incompatible waterproofing system.
...
Looking back, both of these mistakes were made because instructions were not read in their entirety. #ReadInstructions!
Sometimes mistakes are made because your busy focusing other elements of the project. The important thing is to apologize and take responsibility. We hope the clients are happy with their new shower. We sure are!
