Energy Resource Center and the @americanredcross have recently developed an alliance with the intent of reaching as many homes in our community as possible.
This alliance creates a safer home environment by providing education of hazards such as carbon monoxide and fire dangers (home and wildfire). In addition, ERC has agreed to install smoke alarms provided by the American Red Cross in homes where they are not present or not functioning properly. We have dedicated the client education portion of our energy assessments to include the Sound the Alarm Program the American Red Cross has created.
We look forward to our continued partnership and take pride in making our community aware of the everyday hazards that exist!
"A year ago, an ERC team came and weatherized our little home in Palmer Lake. We have gotten a summary from Black Hills Energy, comparing our energy use to that of people within the two-mile radius. It sure looks like the ERC team made a BIG impact! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts! We couldn't have such great improvement without the hard work and dedication of your team." This home was built in 1938 as a summer home in Palmer Lake. This family lives in this home all year long and it lacked any sufficient insulation.
ERC put insulation in the attic and floors, wrapped water lines, replaced the furnace, sealed duct work, installed LED bulbs, installed smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and installed low flow showerheads.
