I was really looking forward to spending a full day and night in beautiful #Curacao , but thanks to some bad salmon, I was left praying to the porcelain god until 6pm. I finally made it out just in time to watch the sunset, see the #floatingbridge , walk around #Willemstad ’s city center, and drink an amazing smoothie. I was as slow as a slug moving around as I felt so weird and weak that I had to sit down or lean against a wall every 75-100 feet. Crazy how good health is taken for granted until it’s suddenly gone and you find yourself desperate and crying for it to come back. And having that happen while traveling solo in a foreign country is pretty horrible and kinda scary. I won’t let this one incident deter me from being an adventurous eater, but I will never eat anything that doesn’t look right again. I will also, not even for a few seconds, ever take the gift of good health and feeling normal for granted again. And if you’re wondering, I ate salmon two days later for two different meals and continued to feel great for the rest of the trip!
