Chefchaouen 💙 Watching the commotion as the tour buses descended was a timely reminder to tread lightly. Yes, go, but go quietly, before once-quiet mountain towns like this one paint their walls white and close their gates.
What a beautiful day discovering Morocco’s blue pearl 💎✨
Chefchaouen, originally built in 1471 as a fortress, has been a safe-heaven for Jewish at least twice in history & the blue colouring of the houses is believed to stem from Jewish traditions while seeking refuge in the 1930s. The blue is said to symbolize the sky and haven and serve as a reminder of God & a spiritual life.
