Springtime 🌻 = Liver time in Chinese medicine 🧘🏽♀️🌱
As we have approached spring it’s important we take care of our liver to give us our optimal health during this time. Spring is a time for cleansing that sets the rest of our year in motion, during this time our liver takes the lead and promotes balance, growth and free flowing energy throughout the body.
A stagnant liver will leave you feeling swollen, muscles feeling tight, have poor digestion, your hormones may go out of balance and your skin may even be effected, feeling more tired & also symptoms of hay fever.
Here are a few key things you can do to keep your liver healthy: - Drink warm lemon water 🍋 first thing when you wake up, this softens your liver and gets it going. - Drink dandelion tea☕️, this is great for fluid retention. - ❌Avoid consuming too much dairy, fructose, alcohol and processed foods, as this can cause havoc within your body and it’s great to help your body detox and get it ready for summer. - Add turmeric root to your cooking. - Get your body moving!!! 🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♂️Whether it’s walking, yoga, whatever it might be! Now is also the time when we focus majorly on yoga stretches in class that helps your liver balance itself. We will also be teaching techniques on how to know if your liver is in or out of balance.
