#7 Superfood-Challenge:
One of our absolutely beloved Superfoods is Curcuma (Turmeric). The benefits of the main active compound called curcumin are anti-carcinogenic, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. What we can say for sure is that it definitely helps with joint pain. Most people who train daily for years or sit in the office many hours every day at some point experience joint pain. Curcuma might be worth trying in this case. Supplements are superior here in our opinion, as it is just not very convenient to eat the dried spices or the raw product in the amounts needed (as we said before, we normally prefer real foods over supplements). It makes sense to aim for a supplement with at least 500 mg of Curcumin and take it twice a day. The problem with this stuff is the bad bioavailability. Some products therefore add Bioperine to improve this (which might be fine) but from our self-experiments we find that the best bioavailability is obviously observed with micellar curcumin as it really gave results. Again of course everybody is different and some might prefer powder over pills. We would be happy to hear if it helped for you. Stay healthy, stay happy!
