Dear Pakistan,
.
It’s been 5 days since I’ve left my hometown to explore you with my 2.5 year old and it’s our first time that we’re actually getting to know who you really are. You know how we get judgmental when we haven’t really met someone and we keep giving our assumptions?, it was exactly the same with me about you. I wish I had studied Pakistan Studies and Geography with much interest back in school - I would have known you slightly better-But now in these 5 days I have been holding onto the Map while viewing your wild sights ,magnificent roads and beautiful landscapes and humble people and small towns and wadis and rivers and bagh and fields.. ah! All which has some how changed me. It has changed my vision of you. I always call myself a proud Pakistani like every other Pakistani does, but the real pride- I have felt is NOW. I know there’s still so much that I don’t know about you- but this trip has given birth to an exploration quest in me. We feel so lucky when we get to travel abroad- the desi pana in us can never end- but I highly suggest all Pakistanis to explore you FIRST-
.
Mere pyare Pakistan- Tum sada raho shadab- I will be writing letters to you describing my journey which many people will be reading- (hopefully) and I hope I am able to bring forward who you really are to the world-
.
How much have you explored Pakistan? I’d love to hear your stories!

I’ve been everywhere up north except Skardu and Gilgit. Dad was very particular about traveling every summer holiday. The people up there have hearts made of gold. My fav thing to do was drinking the cold fresh water from the mountain streams. Wish I can make a trip again soon
